Background

Frame was born from a couple’s mission to help others through their fertility journey, rooted in their own experiences building a family. The product uses simple yet effective methods to identify fertility risks early on and guide members through their journey of building a family.

Turning to Pixelmatters, we set out to create a more user-friendly and scalable Web App to support Frame’s mission.

Challenge

As a startup seeking product-market fit, Frame required a mindset of experimentation and quick iteration based on user feedback. They found in Pixelmatters a partner to enhance their Web App’s scalability, optimization, and user experience while guaranteeing HIPAA compliance.

Understanding the user's pains

Despite being a platform designed to guide members through their fertility journey, the user flow from registration to securing a coaching session was complex and time-consuming.

Frame tried to control access, so new users couldn’t register unless they had an invitation. Once they got into the platform, the onboarding process didn't give them much information about where they were in the process or what to do next.

From manual to automated onboarding

Frame's initial onboarding process depended on time-consuming manual work. Survey data was transferred to a Google Sheet, after which PDF reports were generated and emailed to each user. This lacked efficiency.

Pixelmatters collaborated with Frame to automate their report generation and set up automated emails at key points in the user journey. We also identified key metrics to understand user drop-off patterns and guide design improvements.

A new unified experience

These improvements led to a more efficient and seamless flow, from sign-up to post-onboarding, including a fresh new design that is evident in every step of the journey.

Registered users now also have access to a better info hierarchy as soon as they enter the Web App, with progress indicators and a mobile-friendly UX, accommodating the increasing trend of users accessing the platform via their mobile devices.

Keep sensitive data safe

As a healthcare startup, data security and regulation compliance were must-haves for Frame's product when handling sensitive health information.

MedStack, a healthcare compliance software that streamlines development with built-in HIPAA controls, provides an extra layer of compliance. MedStack's pre-built features saved time and resources while guaranteeing the Web App’s security from the ground up.

Speeding development with integrations

Speed is key when you are a startup achieving product-market fit. Integrating user feedback as the product gains traction is important and vital in any go-to-market strategy.

Pixelmatters enhanced Frame's user experience and accelerated feature development through third-party integrations, all of which comply with HIPAA regulations. These integrations included Stripe for secure payments, Calendly  for automated appointment scheduling, and Formsort for simplified form submissions.
